Weigh-In: 412.6 Pounds
Not much to say. At least I’m down from last time.

Weigh-In: 418.0 Pounds
I know what it takes to lose weight. But it seems that I refuse to do it. I went out and bought some clothes that are slightly tight on purpose, so I can exercise in them and feel them get looser and finally too big. I want to report a number under 410 pounds next week, we’ll see what happens.

Weigh-In: 407.6 Pounds!
I backslid this week, but only a little bit. I had added some frozen fruit to my diet and I am pretty sure I overindulged, especially towards the end of the week. Of more concern, I pretty much fell off the wagon over the weekend. I got sick and as part of feeling sorry for myself, I went and got high-carb fast food and chinese food, complete with fried rice and fortune cookie. I can do better – tomorrow, I’m starting from scratch.

Another mid-week weigh-in, and the numbers are still decreasing. So far, so, good, but I have a long way to go. The upshot is that I’m just 2.2 pounds from being 30 pounds lower than my all-time high weight. I’m ready to be back under 400 pounds, and once I am, I plan to stay that way!

Weigh-in: 408.6 Pounds!
The pounds continue to fall off at a decent, if not spectacular clip. I’m down just over 20 pounds since returning to the low carb lifestyle at the beginning of the year. Of course, I still have just over 40 pounds to go to get back to where I was when I for some incredibly stupid reason fell off the wagon back at the beginning of last year. I am slowly coming to the point where I realize that losing weight has to be a top of mind thing for me if I hope to succeed. I hate the idea that I have to depend on “willpower” when other folks seem to know when to stop eating without thinking about it. However, this is something that’s too important to simply give up on. I need to add exercise back to my routine as well – I have a gym membership, and worked with a personal trainer to learn all the exercises, now it’s just a matter of going regularly.

Stepped on the scale this morning, thought I’d post it just to post. I’d love to get under 409 pounds this week, so that I can be past the 20-pound mark. We’ll see what happens.

Wouldn’t ordinarily do more than one weigh-in over the weekend, but I stepped on the scale this morning and was pretty happy with what I saw. No real commentary here, just glad the numbers are decreasing.

Weigh-in: 415.2 Pounds!
I lost a little over two pounds last week. Not bad for a week where I blew the diet twice. However, I know I can do better. I want to be back under 400 pounds before the end of February, and under 300 pounds by the end of 2009. As long as the numbers keep going down, though, I’m still happy.

Since my last weigh-in, I have fallen off the low-carb wagon, but as of the New Year (January 4th, 2009, to be specific), I have climbed back on-board. I had come dangerously close to gaining every last ounce of weight back, reaching a peak of 429.4 pounds on the 3rd, when I decided once and for all that I have to do this if I want to ever glimpse a healthy weight again. The amazing thing about low-carb eating is how good you feel once your body switches over to primarily burning fat for fuel. You can concentrate better, you sleep better, and you’re just happier once you lose the “carb coma”. I’m down 12 pounds already, which I know is mostly water loss. I’m ashamed to have reversed so much of my hard work from late 2007 and early 2008, but I’m excited to be back on track. I don’t want to be a yo-yo dieter, I want to be someone who eats the things that I know will help me attain my desired body type. Watch this space – I plan to be a low-carb success story!

Still not losing weight right now. I’m a little disappointed, but not completely discouraged. I’ve started exercising more and following a couch-to-5K plan with an eye towards running the Battleship North Carolina 5K in November. I expect the exercise and greater attention to my eating habits should start to bear fruit in breaking my now four-month plus stall/reversal. We’ll see where I am at next week’s weigh-in!
