Weigh-In: 371 Pounds

A little bit of backsliding this week as the stall continues. I’m a little disheartened, but I know this is temporary. I’ve been planning to up my exercise for a while, and this should serve as excellent motivation.

Al-Sadr: My New Album Drops on February 22

BAGHDAD – Radical Shiite cleric Muqtada al-Sadr will have a statement read in mosques at Friday prayer services addressing whether his Mahdi Army will extend a six-month cease-fire that’s helped reduce violence throughout Iraq, a Shiite lawmaker said. After the statement is read, al-Sadr will surprise crowds with a CD release party for his new album “Muhammad Is My Homeboy”, a two-disc rock/rap crossover album intended to bridge the gap between radical Shia Islam and Iraq’s little-known hip-hop underground. Weigh-In: 368 Pounds

Sorry for the lack of a weigh-in recently, travel has kinda wrecked my blogging plans. Of course, I wouldn’t trade the memories of our trip to Curacao for anything, especially not just a few more blog posts. Still stalled in the upper 360′s, but feeling good about it because I went on vacation, had a great time, was very active, and didn’t wreck my body. I’m going to be revising my diet to eliminate some of the more processed meats (sausages, etc.), because I’m wondering about hidden carbs in fillers that might be causing some of my lack of progress. I’m going to try going with fresh meats and greens and really limit processed foods. Of course, low-carb eating means I’ve cut out most processed foods already, but I’m going to try to get even closer to nature. We’ll see if that breaks the stall in a couple of weeks.

Curacao!

Paradise does exist, at least in February in the Caribbean. My wife and I just returned from eight days in Curacao, a small island that forms the “ABC Islands” of the Netherlands Antilles, along with Aruba and Bonaire. Although NC has benefitted from a mild winter this year, nothing compares to the sunny 85-degree weather we enjoyed every single day of our stay in Curacao. The locals were friendly, the food was fantastic, and my wife and I had one of the most memorable trips of our entire life together. There’s more info after the jump!
